Born in 1970, Alan Charlton is in the first year of his appointment as the first Eileen Music Fellow in Composition at Bedford School, Bedford, where he's already been for two years. Previously he was awarded a B.A. (hons) in Music and then a Ph.D. in Musical Composition at the University of Bristol. His works have been performed in Britain, Finland and Germany and his output contains two concertos, several orchestral pieces, lots of chamber and vocal music and many pieces for amateur and school ensembles.
