Composer, born in New York City of Brazilian parents: his mother was the guitarist Olga Coelho. Aside from the education he received through a graduate fellowship at the Juilliard School, at New York University, and in Rio de Janeiro, he owes his musical training to the composeres Julian Orbon and Carlos Chavez.
