Keller studied the theory of music, German and composition. He began as a free jazz musician, and to this day continues to play improvised music. Since 1973 he has produced some 60 compositions for various combinations of instruments, often based around political writings. The miniature opera “Egon - The Life of a Bank Clerk”, and the operetta “Fontamara” after Ignazio Silones Roman, are marathon works. Since 1985 Keller has produced regular concert programmes at the Theatre on the Tracks in Winterthur where he lives.
