Laible grew up in Lipsia, studied medicine in Lipsia and Freiburg, practiced as a doctor on the island of Hiddensee (Vorpommern). Since 1907 he learnt guitar, later he studied lute, gave concerts with both instruments and as singer, e.g. on November 28, 1923 in the premises of the Arndt Society in Berlin. (Rainer Stelle)
