Composer born in Lipsia, died in Duisburg. In the fifties he moved from East Germany to West Germany and continued to study composition with Frank Martin in Cologne. Afterwards he lived more than 40 years in Duisburg, where he taught at the Niederrheinsche Musik- und Kunstschule and at Folkwang Musikschule.
