Stuart Scott was born in Stretford near Manchester (UK) in 1949 and studied composition with Sir Lennox Berkeley. His wind trio “Conversations” was awarded a prize at the Stroud Festival International Composer's Competition in 1970 and was first performed by members of the Camden Quintet. Since then his music has been performed and broadcast in the UK, USA,Germany, Scandinavia and Japan. His output includes an opera, orchestral works, music for brass ensemble and string quartet as well as many solo pieces,duos and vocal works.
He is a member of the North West Composer's Association and author of “Halle Flutes”,”Skryabin and the Piano” and “The Chamber Music of John Ireland”. His works are available through several different publishers and there have been three CD recordings of his works.
