1984 Graduated from Newcastle Conservatorium of Music with the DSCM, majoring in classical guitar, and studying composition with Nigel Butterley.
1987 Graduated from Sydney University with a B.Mus. in composition, studying with Winsome Evans, Peter Sculthorpe and Eric Gross.
1988 Graduated from Newcastle CAE with a Diploma of Education.
