Galina Andreyevna Laricheva (1937–2011) was born in Rostov-on-Don on 10 August 1937. She studied at the city’s Children’s Music School No. 1, graduating in 1955, and continued her education at the Moscow Music School, where she completed her studies in 1959. In 1964 she finished her guitar training in the class of L. V. Akishina, and in 1971 she graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kiev under M. A. Shchukin. She took part in numerous competitions, including the Republican Competition in Kiev in 1968 and the All-Union Competition in Leningrad in 1971, earning recognition for the quality of her performances.

She pursued an active concert career in various cities across the Soviet Union and abroad, collaborating with orchestras and chamber ensembles. From 1964 she taught at the I. O. Dunaevsky Children’s Music School, where she founded a classical guitar ensemble that became a reference point in guitar pedagogy. Beginning in 1971 she served as a lecturer at the Moscow State Institute of Culture, contributing to the training of many professional guitarists.

Laricheva published arrangements, educational collections, and transcriptions, working with both Soviet and foreign composers. Her editorial and pedagogical work played a significant role in the development of the Russian guitar school, thanks to her careful selection of repertoire and her ability to elevate guitar music within the academic sphere.

She died on 20 October 2011 and was buried in the Perepechinskoye Cemetery. She is remembered as an authoritative and generous figure who devoted her life to the advancement of classical guitar and to the education of new generations of musicians.

Dal 1971 fu docente presso l’Istituto Statale di Cultura di Mosca, contribuendo alla formazione di numerosi chitarristi professionisti.

Laricheva pubblicò arrangiamenti, raccolte didattiche e trascrizioni, collaborando con compositori sovietici e stranieri. Il suo lavoro editoriale e pedagogico ebbe un ruolo significativo nello sviluppo della scuola chitarristica russa, grazie alla cura con cui selezionava il repertorio e alla capacità di valorizzare la musica per chitarra in ambito accademico.

Morì il 20 ottobre 2011 e fu sepolta nel cimitero di Perepechinskoye. È ricordata come una figura autorevole e generosa, che ha dedicato la vita alla diffusione della chitarra classica e alla formazione delle nuove generazioni di musicisti.
