Antonio Sinópoli (1878-1964) began his guitar studies in the Academy of Fine Arts of Buenos Aires with Julio Sagreras, becoming one of his more outstanding students. In 1907 he set up his own academy together with his colleague Carlos Pallerano. In addition to his activities as an educator and concert artist, he began to compose after studying with Enrique Morera. In his Dictionary, Prat took pains to stress “the studious and untiring” temperament of this teacher. He gives testimony to the fact that Sinópoli composed a significant number of original works for guitar and also transcribed and/or fingered other works from various genres and styles, in addition to compiling an extended edition of the Aguado method and other didactic works.
