Catherine Fayance è una chitarrista, arrangiatrice e rinomata didatta francese nata nel 1960. Ha compiuto gli studi accademici di alto perfezionamento sotto la guida del celebre maestro Alberto Ponce, conseguendo nel 1982 il prestigioso Diplôme supérieur de concertiste presso l'École Normale de Musique de Paris. Stimata a livello internazionale nel panorama della pedagogia musicale, Fayance ha dedicato gran parte della sua carriera alla creazione di materiale didattico pionieristico per l'infanzia e l'iniziazione strumentale. Tra le sue pubblicazioni più celebri e diffuse figurano i volumi "Le Petit Panorama de la Guitare", una raccolta di trenta piccole composizioni e arrangiamenti per i primi passi sullo strumento, e l'antologia "Duo Panorama", contenente sessantaquattro duetti pensati per sviluppare la musica d'insieme fin dal primo ciclo di studi, entrambi pubblicati dalle prestigiose Éditions Musicales Transatlantiques. Parallelamente all'attività editoriale, ha collaborato intensamente con figure di rilievo come il chitarrista Rafael Andia, con cui ha firmato ampie antologie sul repertorio antico e romantico ed eseguito storiche trascrizioni, tra cui le sonate di padre Antonio Soler.
