Myrna Sislen è una chitarrista classica, docente e filantropa statunitense nata nel 1950. Nata e cresciuta a Washington, ha compiuto gli studi accademici laureandosi in esecuzione chitarristica presso l'American University, avviando una prolifica carriera concertistica internazionale trentennale che l'ha portata a esibirsi in prestigiose sale come la Carnegie Recital Hall di New York e il Kennedy Center di Washington, oltre a intraprendere lunghe tournée in Europa, Scandinavia e America Latina. Myrna Sislen is an American classical guitarist, educator, and philanthropist born in 1950. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., she completed her academic training majoring in guitar performance at American University, launching a prolific 30-year international concert career that featured debut recitals at New York's Carnegie Recital Hall and Washington's Kennedy Center, as well as extensive tours throughout Europe, Scandinavia, and Latin America. Alongside her performing career, she dedicated 29 years to higher education as an Associate Professor of Music at George Washington University and authored eight successful instructional books and anthologies of guitar arrangements for major publishers, including Alfred Music. A prominent figure in music entrepreneurship and youth advocacy, she owned the historic music store Middle C Music in Washington, D.C., and actively fosters young classical guitar talents through the prestigious annual Myrna Sislen Youth Guitar Competition presented by Marlow Guitar International.
