La “Suite omaggio a Giuseppe Biasi” è stata composta con l’aspirazione di restituire, attraverso un duplice gioco di rimandi sonori e pittorici, l’aspetto al contempo concreto e magico della Sardegna, il suo essere luogo del presente e luogo “altro” allo stesso tempo. L’opera del pittore costituisce, ai miei occhi, un tentativo di cogliere lo spirito dell’isola, del popolo che la abita, attingendo alle tracce del passato alla ricerca di un “originario” che sia scevro dal folklore e che non indulga all’ingenuità. Analoghe considerazioni si possono svolgere circa la suggestioni africane cui il pittore fu sensibile durante il suo soggiorno fra Libia ed Egitto negli anni ’20. Composta di tre movimenti, ispirati ad altrettanti quadri di Biasi – “Ballo”, “Battesimo” e “Cavalieri Arabi” - la Suite sfrutta l’allusività del linguaggio modale e del timbro chitarristico per dar vita ad un discorso musicale sempre in bilico fra molteplici risoluzioni che vengono puntualmente eluse, rimanendo sempre al di qua di qualsiasi certezza, per non intaccare l’incanto cui l’inesauribile bellezza della Sardegna riesce a dar vita.

The "Suite omaggio a Giuseppe Biasi " was composed with the aspiration of restoring, through a dual play of sound and pictorial references, the concrete and magical aspect of Sardinia, as both a place in the present and in an “other” place at the same time. In my view, the painter's work is an attempt to capture the spirit of the island and its people, drawing on traces of the past in search of an 'original' that is free of folklore and does not indulge in naivety. Similar considerations can be made about the African influences to which the painter was sensitive during his stay in Libya and Egypt in the 1920s. Composed of three movements, inspired by three of Biasi's paintings - "Ballo", "Battesimo" and "Cavalieri Arabi" - the Suite exploits the allusiveness of the modal language and of the guitar's timbre to give life to a musical discourse always poised among multiple resolutions, that are punctually eluded, always placed before any certainty, so as to not undermine the enchantment that the inexhaustible beauty of Sardinia manages to create.
